Bear Protest
In the narrow street at a school in Mechelen, the boundary between sidewalk and road wasn’t always clear for many drivers, especially when the school ended and hundreds of kids had to walk on the sidewalk and the street between parked cars. To highlight this boundary I placed a protest march of bears on the entire length of the sidewalk for several weeks.
The campaign was picked up by the press and copied in many other places.
Parents were very positive about the campaign and we rarely saw cars on the sidewalk after the campaign.
